The protagonist travels to his family’s village, a mining town in the province of León. The old house of his grandparents, the places he used to hang around, the intense smells of nature, the ashy textures left on the walls of the houses by the remains of coal, the intense cold, all of these awaken diffuse, strange memories that plunge him into a state of introspection and anxiety.
